SHARP - 3D Gaussian Scene Prediction from Apple
SHARP is Apple's image-to-3D view synthesis model, using 3D Gaussian scene prediction to reconstruct spatial geometry from a single still image. The browser demo lets you drop in a photo and watch it produce a navigable 3D representation. For founders building in AR, product visualization, or e-commerce 3D — this is a signal about where the quality ceiling is heading. The Gaussian splatting approach produces cleaner edges and less hallucinated geometry than older NeRF-based methods at comparable input quality. The honest caveat: this is a research demo from a hardware company with no announced developer API, no licensing terms for commercial use, and no roadmap. It tells you what is possible in a lab; it does not give you something to ship this week. Watch it for competitive awareness, not for integration. -> Best for: technical PM or AI engineer tracking the 3D generation landscape
