jmerelnyc/Talos
This is a GPU compute marketplace client — you run it on a machine with a GPU, it connects to the Talos network over a WebSocket, picks up open-model inference jobs, and pays you for uptime and completed work. The pitch is straightforward: idle GPU equals wasted money, so point it at a distributed inference network instead. The open-source client gives you visibility into what is actually running on your hardware, which matters if you care about what jobs you are serving. Reservation: the value of this entirely depends on the health and volume of the Talos network's job queue. A thin job market means low payouts and a client sitting idle anyway. There is also the usual counterparty risk of a newer distributed compute network — payout reliability and network stability are unknowns worth investigating before treating this as actual income. -> Best for: ML researcher or AI engineer with spare GPU capacity between training runs
