Hermes Browser Extension opens a native browser side panel and connects the active tab's context — page content, selections, what you are looking at — to a Hermes Agent instance running locally on the same machine. The value prop is privacy and latency: everything stays on-device, no API calls to a hosted backend. For someone already running a local Hermes Agent setup, this is the missing bridge that makes the agent browser-aware without installing a separate proxy or writing custom browser automation. The setup will require some tolerance for 'it works on my machine' energy — local runtime, extension sideloaded, no managed service in between. That is also the point for the audience this is aimed at. Not a polished product, more a useful connector for a specific stack. Reservation: you need to already be in the Hermes Agent ecosystem for this to be relevant at all — zero value as a standalone install. -> Best for: indie hacker or AI engineer running a local agent stack
